Keys4Life

Keys4Life is a pre-driver education program delivered at participating schools and agencies that allows students over 15 years of age to learn about safe driving and sit their Learner’s Permit Theory Test. These resources will help registered Keys4Life teachers deliver the program and administer the test.

Before becoming a registered Keys4Life teacher, staff must attend a professional learning workshop and have a current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA. Alternatively, non-teaching staff must hold a Bachelor of Education or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Keys4Life is a SCSA Endorsed Program

This fact sheet outlines details of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority’s endorsement of Keys4Life and how students gain acknowledgement or unit equivalence for their WA Certificate of Education. Using the correct SCSA code, schools can enrol their students in one of the two Keys4Life endorsed programs (10-lesson or 40-lesson).

This workbook offers 10 activities, two road safety pledges and five quizzes that students can complete in class. It can be used as alternative to the Behind the Wheel journal. Students can complete this version of the journal on a device. Registered Keys4Life teachers can also order a hard copy of this workbook for each student, instead of the journal.

 

Drive Safe: A handbook for Western Australian road users

This handbook is a comprehensive guide to the road rules that apply in Western Australia. The Learner’s Permit Test is based on the Drive Safe handbook.

Keys4Life Let's Practise

Registered Keys4Life teachers engage parents in the Keys4Life program by holding an information session at school. Each family will receive a copy of the Let’s Practise booklet. It is a guide to the licensing system, safer driving and supervising a learner driver. Use this digital version if need extra copies are needed.



Keys4Life Parents Online

This is an online self paced course which supports parents, carers and guardians in their role as supervisor for their Keys4Life learner driver. It is a digital version of the Keys4Life Let’s Practise booklet.
